Computer Lab

Computer labs are rooms containing a large group of computers that are usually connected to a network and available for use by a large number of people. Computer labs are located in several types of facilities such as libraries, schools and universities, science and research centers, Internet cafes, and some community centers.

The configuration of a computer lab determines what equipment is needed. Computer labs often require much more than simply CPUs and KVM stations together in one location. The circumstances may require the CPUs to be located separately and at a distance from the KVM user station, for multiple sources to be displayed on one monitor, or for multiple monitors to be connected to a single computer. Additionally, for education purposes, switching between and viewing multiple computers from a single monitor can prove beneficial. Each computer lab environment may have different and specialized needs.

Rose Electronics has solutions capable of achieving the desired layout for any computer lab setting. Several products offered are engineered specifically for computer labs, such as the ClassView switch designed to enhance teaching techniques, KVM over IP extenders, fiber optic and CATx extenders for placing KVM stations at almost any distance required, and multiviewers for viewing several video sources simultaneously.

Data Center

Data centers are a crucial and inherent component of modern business operations. Companies now heavily rely on their information technology systems to provide a wide range of services, including communication, transactions, access to information, and much more. As a result, if such a system becomes unavailable, business is disrupted and operations come to a halt.

Data centers have become increasingly standardized and are expected to meet a number of requirements designed to decrease possible failures and threats. Constructing a well-regulated data center requires an efficient use of space, a problem solved with the use of specially designed equipment racks. These equipment racks can fit servers, switches, KVM stations, and more. These facilities also require special cabling and signal extension, varying from CATx to fiber, to a number of other options.

Several products offered by Rose Electronics contribute to the creation or renovation of a state-of-the-art data center. Rose rack drawers provide easy access to servers and computers while sliding conveniently into racks to save space. A wide range of extenders and switches operate on several types of cabling and devices and are easy to install. Digital Signage

Digital signage is any form of electronic display typically used for advertising, distributing information, menus, television, and more. These digital signs are connected to and controlled by computers or servers, and can be easily updated at any time and include interactive features, making them cost-effective and more functional than static signage. There are several types of digital displays to fulfill a diversity of purposes, ranging from LCD and plasma to LED and projections.

Digital signage systems usually consist of a central server or computer that is connected to the network of digital signs. The network may be over the Internet and utilize IP for control and updates, or it may be closed from the web in which case access is restricted to the location of the computer or server. The displays are connected to a matrix switch to allow switching of video sources among connected displays.

Rose Electronics produces the necessary equipment to build any digital signage network required. Remote access KVM over IP switches can allow switching at any time from anywhere in the world. For closed networks, fiber optic extenders allow signs to be placed up to 6 miles away from the video source.

Financial

High frequency trading has become increasingly important in financial systems, causing electronic trading rooms to rise to prominence and replace the outdated 'open outcry' system. The digital revolution transformed trading, with market data expected to be viewed in real time in order for decisions to be made instantly. This had a strong effect on trading infrastructure, and led to the proliferation of both trading software and hardware. It is now the norm to construct trading rooms incorporating video walls, switches, and a large number of multiple monitor KVM stations. Because the financial condition of a bank or company usually hinges on trading room operations, downtime caused by equipment failure is damaging and unacceptable.

Rose Electronics is a brand trusted by many financial institutions to provide reliable equipment and efficient system designs for their trading control centers. Rose equipment provides flexibility for design and implementation, and can optimize any system architecture desired to ensure seamless trading and zero downtime. Extenders permit computers and servers to be placed in any location, multiviewers and video wall controllers allow for several monitors and displays, and switches provide users to access several data and video sources at any time required. Rose products are a basic necessity for conducting today's rapid financial transactions and analyses of large quantities of data.

Machine Control

Modern industrial settings have a wide range of uses for computers and electronics. Machines utilizing the latest technology are often controlled by computers and have electronic gauges and monitoring systems which can be shown on displays. Manufacturers sometimes have factory conditions in certain areas which are hazardous and unsuitable for both computers and workers.

Rose Electronics can assist in setting up machine control rooms and addressing problems arising from unsafe conditions. Extenders allow both computers and employees to be located at a distance from any possible dangers while providing the necessary access remotely. Switches allow a user to switch between computers which may be required to monitor and operate the machinery. In addition, multiviewers and video wall controllers maximize observation and oversight of machinery and manufacturing processes, providing a high degree of control and minimizing risk.

Medical

The constantly evolving field of medical technology has led to a number of new innovations and developments within hospitals and modern medical centers. Monitoring the vital signs of patients from nurse workstations is becoming more common with systems in place to alert staff of sudden shifts in conditions, emergencies, and routine checkups. Digital signage is also becoming more commonplace.

Rose Electronics has been involved in spearheading the implementation of this technology by providing the requisite multiviewers and extenders for specific applications. For example, machines which monitor several patients at once have built in switches and need to be connected to several nurse stations at different locations. Through the use and daisy chaining of customized dual access extenders, a cost-effective solution has been achieved which allows nurses to switch between signals from these machines from one of several nurse workstations. Another such example is the ability to view several sources on one display through the use of a multiviewer, allowing nurses and doctors to monitor several patients from one location. These are just a couple of examples, with several other applications within hospitals existing. Many medical equipment integrators prefer to use our products with their equipment.

Transportation

The transportation industry has integrated a number of uses for electronic displays, controls, and digital signage. Airport terminal displays are found throughout almost every airport worldwide. Used to display flight information to passengers and transport services, the displays are part of a computer system designed to deliver departure and arrival information in real time. Similarly, train stations use displays for the same information. Depending on the size of the airport or station, there may be several sets of information display systems, sometimes for multiple terminals/platforms or for different operators. Advertisements on electronic displays are also common throughout many train stations and airports.

Airplanes, trains, and cruise ships also have several displays on them, for both entertainment and distributing transportation information. Additionally, controls frequently need to be placed at a distance from the computers, whether for personal entertainment use or for operating and monitoring a vehicle.

These displays and controls almost always need signal extension from a computer, and often require being connected to a switch or video wall controller in order to have several displays from one or more sources from which the information originates. Rose Electronics manufactures controllers and extenders expressly for these purposes, and can accommodate any system design required.
